Welcome to Timber Creek!!

Timber Creek Apartments is located at 1100 Falls Creek Lane, in Charlotte, NC.

I am in no way affiliated with the complex, other than I am miserably stuck in a lease for the next few months.

This site is dedicated to showing people my renting experiences here and is in no way connected to or is a representation of Timber Creek Apartments.

In my last 8 months here, I've witnessed many events that make me wonder if the place I am living in is safe.

  • The front office has burned down, and has been closed for several months. The complex office is now located in an apartment.

  • The front gate has not worked for 80% of my time living here, allowing anyone to come and go. This was originally advertised to me as a "gated community."
This log has been perched on the gate for over two months.
Gate hasn't moved an inch. Some "gated community" this is.

  • When Timber Creek hired contractors to come in and replace the entire water system in all of the buildings, they flooded the apartment above mine and my ceiling collapsed.

  • There is a broken PVC pipe in front of one of the buildings that looks like it is about to impale someone. It used to have a "cap" on it but has been gone for at least four months.

  •  There are animals tied up on stakes outside some of the units. They are not friendly and I fear someone will be bitten.

Curious about what it's really like to live here? Please take a look around at all the posts, pictures, and videos of mine and others' experiences here at the lovely Timber Creek Apartments!

Silent night.... Not in Timber Creek

It's Monday night about 8pm, Memorial Day, noisy neighbors, barking dogs. This is what a typical evening in Timber Creek Apartments sounds like.

Keeping the local towing company in business!!

One might think that their own home is a safe place to park their car. Think again! The management at Timber Creek left its residents a notice (pictures below) six days before towing their cars, beginning at 8:15 am. Granted, this might be a "legal" action, however no phone calls, emails, signage, or personal notices were given.

This is Timber Creek's idea of how you should notify someone of renovations to the parking lot.

Many residents and guests of residents had their vehicles towed. Although the apartment complex did indeed notify it's residents six days in advance, approximately a dozen cars were still there in the lot when they began towing, indicating that many of the residents did not receive these notices.

A manager of the apartment complex began knocking on residents doors about 30 minutes after the drivers had begun towing car away.

Another Break In

Yet another vehicle has been broken into here in Timber Creek Apartments. This gentleman's car window was shattered and the vehicle door was left open. It is assumed that the suspect fled shortly after entering the car. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police were on the scene early in the morning on March 19th, 2015.

Such a cute cockroach!!

I consider myself a rather tidy person, and I keep a very clean place. Despite my meticulous cleanliness and best efforts to keep a sanitary home, this little guy was found wandering along my ceiling one day. Infuriated, I caught him and put him in a jar with intentions to go raise a fit at the front desk.

Since it was a holiday week, no one was to be found in the "office apartment". (The regular office burned down a few months ago, so now the entire staff is working out of a small apartment unit.)

Alas, my pet cockroach died before I could show him off to the management at Timber Creek.

But don't worry, despite obsessively bleaching every thinkable surface in my home, I have met many of his grandchildren since then!!
